Face mask: importance of use during the pandemic

European Standard EN14683 covers experimental methods and manufacturing and performance characteristics for surgical masks designed to limit transmission of infectious agents from working personnel to patients at the time of surgical processes in operating rooms as well as rest of the medical settings with parallel features.

According to the applicable EN 14683 standard, the following tests will be performed according to the type of mask selected.

Standard EN 149 covers the least half-mask properties with filters from respiratory shielding devices used for particle protection in situations where the environment cannot be removed.

Why are they classified as FFP1 - FFP2 - FFP3? What's the difference in this class?

This classification and classification have classified the filtration performance as defined in EN 149: 2001 + Al: 2009 standards in accordance with the European Union's personal protection equipment directive.

What Are Respiratory Risks in the Work Environment?

Dust: In solid state they fly through the air in small and large particles of

Liquid: Small fluid, consisting of misting and moisture, flies in the method of particles.

Gas: You won’t be able to see gas produced by solid and liquid reactions.

Objective: Prevention of infections with airborne pathogens and exposure to airborne particles and aerosols (allergens and environmental) can be simplified making use of disposable face masks. The effectiveness of such face masks surgical in excluding pathogens and pollutants depends on the ability of the mask to withstand penetration from air pollutants.

Results: Masks with or without features to enhance comfort provide protection against both small and large pathogens. Importantly, masks appear to be very effective in filtering pathogens, comprising rhinoviruses and influenza, as well as fine particles (PM 2.5) found in aerosols, representing greater challenges for different types of teeth and surgical masks.

Surgical masks as well as respiratory protection masks use to be widely used for personal and professional applications both. While both the masks use to protect their wearers from harmful factors and environments, the focus on what to protect is quite different.
